From plaster to high decoration, Cédric Capron has built his career in the field, between artisanal rigor, creative flair and unwavering energy, from Los Angeles to the Riviera. Meeting with a passionate person who has become a reference.
Your journey begins as a painter and plasterer in Normandy. How did you become an interior designer?
I started working on construction sites at a very young age with my father. Then I became a companion as a free candidate. This job has chosen me as much as I have chosen it.
You're going to Los Angeles in 2013...
I saw a report on Christian Audigier. I left with two bottles of Pouilly and rang the doorbell at his house. It worked! I worked for Johnny Hallyday, Hélène Ségara... I came back grown up. But one of my most important customers left without paying and I had to file for bankruptcy. A life lesson.
Why come to Nice later?
For my children, who followed their mother here. And for light, the unique potential of the region. In 2022, I started all over again. I approached Riccardo Giraudi, a major reference in luxury catering, who trusted me. Since then, I have signed projects for him and private clients in Paris, Cyprus, Saint-Barth, Santorini... My turnover has increased by 60% each year, and I now work with a team of 14 employees. We are based in the port of Nice with Maison Moghadam, which has designed a high-end interior there to enhance French craftsmanship. A gallery of exceptional stones will soon be created there.
Your signature?
Each place should arouse an emotion. This is the spirit I wanted to infuse into Mood, my concept store recently opened in Nice. With Pascaline Smet, we offer a careful selection of designer pieces that are rare, exclusive and resolutely stylish.
“THIS JOB HAS CHOSEN ME AS MUCH AS I HAVE CHOSEN IT.”
