The architects Kevin Caprini and Jerry Pellerin, founders of the Caprini & Pellerin agency in Cannes, specialize in luxury residential, hotel and commercial architecture. Encounter.
How would you describe the DNA of your agency ?
Our DNA is based on the alliance between authenticity and luxury, guided by four values: timelessness, tailor-made, respect for the local context and sustainable elegance. Inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle,
we design sensory spaces that value craftsmanship, noble materials and the connection to nature. Trained in “critical regionalism”, we integrate each project into its cultural and geographical framework, combining technical precision and poetry. Between tradition and modernity, we cultivate a balance between past and future, for a singular, rooted and refined architecture.
The renovation of Palm Beach in Cannes is one of your flagship projects.
What were the main challenges in this restoration of a historic monument ?
When you inherit an iconic building, especially in Cannes where it has a personal resonance, the responsibility is immense. Palm Beach has undergone profound transformations, especially after the Second World War and the operation of the casino, which have altered its volumes and erased its ornaments. Our objective: to reconnect it to its environment by reworking its surroundings and facades. The restoration required a historical analysis to preserve the essence of the place, while responding to the challenges of sustainability, landscape integration and the valorization of local know-how. The disappeared decorations have been reinterpreted in sandy tones, with in a retrofuturistic architecture that restores Palm Beach to its former greatness, between heritage, luxury and innovation.
What role does craftsmanship play in your creations, especially in the selection of materials and the collaboration with local artisans ?
Craftsmanship is central to our approach. Each project is the result of a close dialogue with marble workers, potters, ironworkers, carpenters... who shape natural, local or recycled materials (old castle slab, old beams, sheets). These collaborations give our creations a unique depth that is at once sensitive, weathered and timeless.
What are your future plans or aspirations for the Caprini & Pellerin agency in the coming years ?
In May, we inaugurated our showroom-gallery on the ground floor of our headquarters in Cannes: a place of synergies between art, design and crafts. Designed as a sensory experience, it welcomes partner brands, unique pieces, and objects resulting from collaborations with artists and artisans who share our sensitivity. The opening was marked by an exhibition dedicated to Emmanuelle Luciana, with the Podgorny Gallery. Soon, we will be unveiling our own furniture collection there, alongside local and international artists. We are also continuing our international development, with the opening of an office abroad and a strong ambition in high-end hotels.
