Le Plongeoir
-
In 2015, Marc Dussoulier fulfilled his dream and resurrected a mythical rock from Nice perched 6 meters above the sea in the Réserve district, at the Port of Nice. He transformed it into a gourmet restaurant, and recruited Christophe Prosper, formerly of the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat, and Loïc Buisson, as Head Chef. Enjoy generous zucchini flower doughnuts, grilled octopus, grilled prawns, or seasonal truffle rigatoni, while enjoying a view of the Mediterranean like no other. The adjoining Lounge Bar offers divine cocktails.
Good to know
- The very first restaurant on the rocky promontory was created at the end of the 19th century. It was then shaped like a fishing boat and was nicknamed “The Unyielding One”.
- At the time, there was an oyster and shellfish reserve below the facade, which inspired the name of the district.
- In 1941, the Nice architect René Livieri transformed it into an Art Deco diving board. It was then abandoned, before being revived by Marc Dussoulier, whose restaurant adjoins Livieri's restored work.
