Hotel du Couvent
-
It was one of the most anticipated projects of the year in Nice, launched ten years ago by Valéry Grégo: the transformation of the convent of the Visitation Sainte-Claire, dating back four centuries, into a 5-star hotel with 88 rooms. The architect Louis-Antoine Grégo respected the soul of the place: lime, hemp, natural colors, creating a timeless monastic atmosphere. The hotel has Roman baths, an herbalist's shop run by Grégory Unrein, a garden of 300 plant species suitable for meditation, a chapel, and a swimming corridor overlooking the Mediterranean. Chef Thomas Vételé runs the three tables, an ode to Nice specialties in their noble simplicity. Exclusively natural wines.
Good to know
- The rooms do not have a television to invite guests to go to the hotel's documentation center, which is full of books on the Nice School, art or religion.
- Every Saturday morning, a local farmers' market is held in the Orange Tree Courtyard, just like at the time of the Visitation Convent.
- The Movement Studio (yoga classes, ballet, yoga bar, animal flow...) is accessible to guests and subscribers to the Thermes.
